BBS Window Blinds · Blinds & Shading
BBS Window Blinds.
A Salford blinds company serving schools, care homes, offices and homes since 2008. WordPress moved to Astro with no ranking pages lost, commercial pages built for school and care-home buyers, and web enquiries piped into Pipedrive. Early signs: average Google position 26.8 → 19.2 in the first 18 days.

What changed for the business.
BBS Window Blinds (BBS Window Solutions Ltd) has measured, made and fitted blinds from Salford since 2008. Commercial work covers schools, care homes, offices, flats and hospitality. Homeowners get a free home visit. The team works across Manchester and the North West.
This is a recent project, so this case study is about what we built and the early signs, not long-term growth. We will update it as results come in.
The starting point
The old WordPress and Elementor site mixed commercial and home buyers together, and web enquiries were not reaching the sales pipeline: every deal in Pipedrive had been typed in by hand. Before quoting, we ran a baseline across 240 location-based Google searches and found BBS in the map results for only 8 of them.
Before the build began we also set up Search Console, moved DNS to Cloudflare and fixed email authentication (SPF and DMARC), at no charge.
What we built
The proposal was accepted on 19 August 2026, and the new site went live on 14 September 2026.
- A migration that protected what was ranking. We moved the site from WordPress to Astro on Cloudflare Workers, in BBS’s own Cloudflare account. A build check fails if any of the 19 ranking pages or 114 previously live addresses goes missing, backed by a 391-line redirect map (website migration).
- Commercial pages for programme buyers. Dedicated pages for schools, care homes, offices and hospitality, alongside product, project and guide pages. 155 pages in all.
- Separate routes for homes and businesses. “Start a commercial enquiry” and “Book a free home visit” are different journeys with different questions.
- Enquiries straight into the CRM. Forms post to a Cloudflare Worker that stores each lead and sends it to Pipedrive, with Turnstile keeping spam out (CRM & marketing automation).
- Local SEO and AI search. LocalBusiness and service-area structured data, plus content written so ChatGPT and other assistants can recommend BBS accurately.
- Consent-led tracking. GA4 and Microsoft Clarity run only after visitors accept analytics cookies.
A monthly local SEO and GEO retainer continues after launch.
Early results
Comparing the 18 days before launch with the 18 days after (Google Search Console):
- Average position: 26.8 → 19.2. On desktop it moved from 25.9 to 16.2.
- The school blinds page moved from around position 28 to 11.9.
- No ranking pages were lost in the move.
In a ChatGPT check on 30 September 2026, using 7 logged-out buyer prompts, BBS was named in all 4 commercial prompts and in 5 of the 7 overall.
What these numbers do not show
Clicks were flat over the first 18 days (61 before, 59 after) and impressions dipped slightly while Google re-read the new site. One web enquiry came through in the first fortnight, and a form issue was fixed on 21 September. It is too early to claim traffic or enquiry growth. We will publish those figures once there is a fair period to compare.
Why it matters
A migration is where most small firms lose their rankings. Here the build itself refused to launch if a ranking page went missing. Commercial buyers now have pages written for how they buy, and every enquiry reaches the sales pipeline.

"Schools and care homes buy blinds on a programme, homeowners buy on a visit. The new site gives each of them their own front door, and every enquiry now reaches the CRM."
