PGT Repairs · Machinery Repair
PGT Repairs.
A one-man garden machinery repair workshop in Hyde. A rebuilt Astro site with repair guides, service and brand pages, plus a custom workshop app. Google clicks grew from 951 in the first 90 days to 3,592 in the latest 90, and the site ranks first for "strimmer won't start".

What changed for the business.
PGT Repairs (Paul’s Garden Tools & Repair) is a one-man workshop on Wilson Street in Hyde. Paul repairs petrol and diesel lawnmowers, strimmers, chainsaws and ride-ons for households, and looks after machinery for golf courses, bowling greens, schools, landscapers and allotments. Customers drop off, book a collection or ask for a mobile repair.
It shows the other end of our range from industrial software: a small trade business where the website has one job, to make the phone ring with the right repairs.
The starting point
Paul had a basic site and no time to market the business. He is not technical and does not want to be. The site needed to bring in work on its own and be easy to keep accurate.
What we built
We overhauled the site in February 2026, moved it to Astro in March and onto Cloudflare Workers shortly after.
- Repair guides that answer real searches. Articles such as strimmer won’t start: common causes help people fix small problems themselves, and send them to Paul when they cannot.
- Service, brand and mobile repair pages. Dedicated pages for the machines, brands and repair types customers search for, built from a structured data model rather than written one by one.
- Pages for commercial customers. Golf courses, bowling greens, schools, fleets, landscapers and agricultural users each get a page that speaks to their needs.
- Live Google reviews and structured data. LocalBusiness, Service, Article and rating schema help Google and AI assistants understand the business.
- Contact tracking. Calls, WhatsApp messages and form enquiries are measured in GA4, with consent.
- A workshop app. A custom app on Cloudflare D1 helps Paul track repairs through the workshop, behind secure sign-in.
We have also pruned and tightened the site as it grew, removing pages that did not earn their place and fixing internal links between services.
The results
Google Search Console, comparing the first 90 days of data (15 February to 15 May 2026) with the latest 90 days (3 July to 30 September 2026):
- Clicks: 951 → 3,592, up 3.8 times.
- Impressions: 28,611 → 230,650, up 8.1 times.
- The strimmer guide brought 987 clicks in the latest 90 days, ranking around position 4.6.
- For “strimmer wont start”, PGT ranks first and is cited in Google’s AI Overview (checked 31 August 2026).
In the 17 days after lead tracking went live in August 2026 the site recorded 58 enquiries, 33 WhatsApp clicks and 21 phone clicks.
What these numbers do not show
Search Console data for this site starts on the day of the overhaul, so there is no “before Happy Webs” baseline to compare against. The comparison also runs from late winter into summer, the busy season for garden machinery, so some of the growth is seasonal. Average position across the site stayed roughly flat while the site grew to cover far more searches. We have not published revenue figures.
Why it worked
The site answers the questions people type into Google when a machine breaks, in plain English, from someone who fixes them every day. That earns visits, trust and AI citations, and the phone, WhatsApp and booking routes turn them into work.

"Paul does not have time for marketing. He fixes machines. So the website answers the questions his customers search for, and the phone does the rest."
