RelayDesk is a local-first, AI-assisted customer inbox for small businesses. Happy Webs designed and engineered it under MadeVia.ai, our focused AI product brand. It is an in-house product, not a client commission.

The problem

WhatsApp is often where a small business actually talks to customers, but the useful context is scattered across conversations, devices and business numbers. A generic AI chat window does not know which account should send the reply, what the customer has already agreed or which facts the owner has approved.

RelayDesk turns that loose workflow into one desktop inbox. It brings conversations, customer context, reviewed business memory and reply drafting together without hiding the sending decision from the person responsible.

Multiple accounts without mixed-up conversations

Each connected WhatsApp account has its own linked-device session, local database, bearer token, outbox and bridge process. Account labels stay visible in the conversation list, active chat and composer, and sending always requires an explicit account route.

That isolation matters when one owner handles more than one business or phone number. Customer memory is keyed by both the account and the chat, so context from the same contact cannot silently leak from one business into another.

AI drafts that stay under human control

RelayDesk can draft replies through OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini or a compatible provider chosen by the owner. The draft is a suggestion: the user reviews and edits it before a separate send action.

Provider credentials are encrypted through the operating system’s secure storage. Structured business and customer memory stays reviewable on the computer, and a learned suggestion does not become a durable fact until the owner chooses to keep it.

One desktop app, including the bridge

The product bundles and supervises the local Go bridge inside the Electron desktop app. First-run setup guides the owner through business context, WhatsApp linked-device pairing and AI provider setup, instead of asking them to assemble Go, Python and MCP processes by hand.

RelayDesk also includes a bundled MCP server for Claude Desktop, Codex and other standard clients. The owner chooses which WhatsApp accounts a connection may use, then copies a generated local configuration. Message content, provider keys and WhatsApp bearer tokens are not placed in that configuration.

Current status and commercial boundary

RelayDesk is a working desktop MVP with a packaged macOS build while release, support and distribution requirements are assessed.

The current local bridge uses WhatsApp’s unofficial linked-device protocol. It is not endorsed by Meta and may be affected by platform or terms changes. A broadly sold version would need that risk clearly disclosed and may use the official WhatsApp Business Platform as its supported long-term route.

What this proves

RelayDesk combines desktop product design, supervised local processes, multi-account isolation, secure credential handling, provider choice and MCP integration in one approachable business tool. It shows another side of the MadeVia product family: practical AI embedded in the customer workflow, with memory that can be reviewed and sending that remains a human decision.
