The price list, replaced.

TradeCatalog is online price list software for businesses that sell to trade: manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors and trade suppliers. Happy Webs designed, built and runs it. It is our own product, not a client commission, and it is live at tradecatalog.app.

The problem

Most trade suppliers still email a spreadsheet or PDF price list. Every customer has a different discount, so someone in the office keeps a second spreadsheet of who pays what, and a price rise means a week of editing files and chasing emails.

Buyers have the opposite problem. A joiner or contractor buying from five suppliers is re-keying prices from five PDFs, and never quite sure which one is out of date.

What it does

TradeCatalog keeps it simple on purpose. The supplier gets four things:

1. One catalogue and one set of list prices. Upload the spreadsheet you already have, or apply a bulk percentage change.
2. Each customer sees their own price, worked out from simple account discount rules.
3. Price changes go out properly. Each customer gets an email showing only their own changes, with the date they take effect.
4. Customers can send an order. They search, add to a basket and send it. The supplier gets an email, the customer gets a copy.

Everything else stays how the supplier already works. TradeCatalog never takes payment for goods, raises invoices or touches the accounts. That boundary is what keeps it quick to set up and easy to trust.

Free for trade buyers

Buyers never pay. One login shows every supplier that uses TradeCatalog, so a buyer can search by product, SKU or manufacturer reference and see their own price from each one. Each supplier still gets its own basket and order, so nothing gets mixed up.

That also makes it grow on its own. A buyer who likes it can ask their other suppliers to join, from their own email, with one link.

How it is built

TradeCatalog runs entirely on Cloudflare, which keeps running costs low enough to charge £29 a month with unlimited customers.

• Every supplier has its own database. A supplier’s catalogue, prices, customers and orders sit in their own store, placed near them, with 30-day point-in-time restore.
• Nightly backups copy every database to locked storage that neither code nor a mistake can delete early.
• Sign-in by emailed code, so buyers have no passwords to forget.
• Stripe billing with local currencies and tax handled, so suppliers can sign up anywhere in the world.
• Built for search engines and AI assistants, with answer-shaped pages and tools that let assistants read the FAQ and pricing directly.

What this proves

TradeCatalog is the same kind of work we do for clients: take one job a trade business does badly by email and spreadsheet, and turn it into a simple system people actually use. The website, the product, the billing, the backups and the search visibility were all built by the same small team.
